The day you come in without your collars
In honour of the UEFA Champions League final between Manchester United and Chelsea at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, which will be aired live on Astro at 2.45am Thursday morning, the NPC exco have granted a lapse in dress-code for tomorrow night (Wednesday, 21 April, 2008)
Members are allowed to come dressed in football jerseys to show support for their respective teams. According to club secretary Mr. Jugjet Singh, those who wish to wear any other EPL jersey, can also do so at their own peril.
"Let's just let them all wear whatever EPL jersey they wish to wear since it is a once-a-year occasion, just like Hari Raya, Deepavali or Chinese New Year. It is all in the spirit of sports. Just because Manchester United and Chelsea are playing, doesn't mean only their fans must be allowed to breach the dresscode. That would be discrimination," a jovial Jugjet told 84tangsi.blogspot.com.
Club manager Stephen Francis chose a more ignorant approach. "Are those jerseys with collars? Well, I'll wear my Real Madrid jersey. It has a collar."
In any case, members are encouraged to show their support for their favourites clubs, EPL across the board, in the NPC clubhouse on Wednesday, 21 May 2008.

Don't they look related?
Among the regular sights at the NPC clubhouse are these trio of bloggers.
On the left is the stand-up philosopher Tony Gayondato, whose blog can be found at http://standupphilosopher.blogspot.com/
In the middle is Stephen Francis, whose blog is at: http://shanghaistephen.blogspot.com/
And then there's TV Smith, whose blog is at http://www.tvsmith.net.my/duasen/
Funny how the photo seems to show slight resemblances in facial features. Maybe they were meant to be brothers. But while Tony, a former NSTP advertising executive, blogs about anything he feels like, mainly the exploits of Herbalife products and how they had an impact on people's lives, Stephen is a mild socio political blogger, not the type that lands himself in jail. He does have a tendency to lose his shoes though.
TV Smith is the photo-blogger extraordinaire, whose pictures evoke deep thought, besides opening up our minds to daily sightings we usually take for granted. They can be found, in person, at the NPC clubhouse 84, Jalan Tangsi in KL at any given day of the week.
Comments on the trio are welcome.

Kelong Acheh July trip
Just got feedback from Farah of Kelong Acheh about our planned trip there in July.
The best dates, as in many big fish and lots of other fish and squid, are: 1st to 7th July; 16th to 22nd; and 30th to 6th of August.
The response to this trip is already picking up and since we're planning it early, most should be able to arrange their leave.
Also, adequate tackle is required and Fish Hunters Sdn Bhd in Jalan Maharajalela still offers a minimum 15percent discount on any item to all NPC members. All we need to do is produce our membership card and claim the benefit.
Further discussions about this will be held at the clubhouse between now and when we go ahead with it.

By popular demand
The Kelong Acheh pictures distributed to friends and colleagues drew some popular responses.
Many are asking for another trip there to be planned. We are happy to announce that efforts to make the second trip to Kelong Acheh a reality are already in progress.
The best time to fish in the vicinity of Penyabung, including Kelong Acheh, is between mid-June and mid-August. So,
initial proposals are for the trip to be in mid July. We will check with the operators for the most suitable time.
Updates will be posted from time to time. For a more detailed idea of what we're talking about, go to www.kelongacheh.com
Kelong Acheh is situated off the Northern tip of the East Coast of Johor near Penyabung. To get there, we drove to Kuantan on the East Coast highway, then down South via the coastal road through Pekan, Rompin, Endau and Mersing. In all the drive takes about five hours, if you include a couple of stops for RnR. But when you arrive at Penyabung, the view itself will take away your breath and the fatigue with it.
Meet us at the club to contribute to the plan.
